Aberdeen 0-2 Hibernian: Le Fondre gives managerless Hibs win

Hibs win puts pressure on Aberdeen boss

Managerless Hibernian claimed a 2-0 victory over Aberdeen in the Scottish Premiership on Saturday, piling pressure on Dons boss Jim Goodwin.

The visitors took the lead in the first half through Martin Boyle, before Christian Doidge doubled their advantage after the break.

The result leaves Aberdeen fourth in the table, level on points with St Mirren but having nine games remaining.

Hibs, meanwhile, move up to seventh and will be looking to maintain their momentum under caretaker boss David Gray.

The match started at a frantic pace, with both teams looking to attack from the off.

Aberdeen had the first chance of the game when Luis Lopes fired over from close range, but it was Hibs who took the lead in the 20th minute.

Boyle latched onto a pass from Elie Youan and calmly slotted the ball past Aberdeen goalkeeper Joe Lewis.

The Dons tried to respond, but they were unable to create any clear-cut chances.

Hibs doubled their lead in the 55th minute when Doidge headed home a cross from Youan.

Aberdeen continued to push for a goal, but they were unable to break down the Hibs defence.

The result leaves Aberdeen boss Goodwin under pressure, with the Dons having now won just three of their last nine games.

Hibs, meanwhile, will be looking to build on this win under caretaker boss Gray.
